Uni win cup thriller at Hemyock
Newtown head the Premier race on their own for the first time after going nap against the fishermen, and with Colyton being held to a 1-1 draw by a very determined Feniton side whose 50 year old Phil Everett scored their goal.
Clyst Valley jumped into third place after coming from behind to win at Seaton Town, Cronies slipping back as their match at Okehampton was a victim of the weather.
Witheridge clocked up their biggest win for many a day as they pounded Heavitree United 8-0, and there were eight goals at Lyme Regis who won their East Devon clash against Upottery 5-3.
Exmouth Town are off the basement rung thanks to their 3-0 win at Topsham Town. All the goals came in the second half.
Hatherleigh Town also won 3-0 in the only game played in Division One, third place Chard Town going off empty handed.
Division Two leaders Royal Oak dropped their first points in a 1-1 draw with the University.
The pick of the Firewatch Devon Senior cup ties was at Hemyock where Exeter University, winners of the trophy two years ago won a fantastic game 8-6 after extra time. The students who led 4-1 secured the win with a late minute penalty.
Otterton were also involved in an epic before getting home 6-4 against Bideford Community after extra time.
Current holders Sidmouth Town sailed into round three with a 6-1 win against Stoke Gabriel
Elmore’s Third team who are hoping to emulate their seconds in the A & S Paving Devon Intermediate Cup are through but only after winning their derby tie against Lapford 4-2 after extra time.
Westexe Park Rangers are not known for their scoring prowess, but a 10-0 victory against Princetown was one they will savour.
