Advantage Lyme after Perry Street blocked out

Tense match at the Davey Fort sees Lyme Regis get the better of Somerset rivals Perry Street, while Upottery Res storm into the Golesworthy final

Davey Fort witnessed a 2-1 home victory for Lyme Regis against Division One promotion rivals Perry Street which has given the Dorset club a two point cushion over the Somerset club with both teams having two matches to play .

Defeat was unthinkable for either side as they crossed swords in the race for either runners up or third place and possible promotion to Premier

As things stand after tonights clash

Colyton 43 points (4 matches remaining to get the one win to be champions)

University 41 points (1 match remaining at Lyme)

Lyme Regis 37  points (2 matches both home to the University and Wellington)

Perry Street 35 points (2 matches remaining  away to Chard Town and Colyton)

NOTE: Promotion to Premier is NOT automatic it is by invitation and clubs have to pass a ground grading test. Teams also have to finish in the top three and if one of those is the University they are currently unable to go up.

A last minute winner gave Beer Albion a 2-1 win in their derby clash with Seaton Town and may have scuppered Seaton hopes of survival. The Colyford Road side have just two matches left and this defeat will make their bid to stay up an awesome task.

The second Golesworthy Cup semi final at Ottery produced a 7-2 win for Upottery Res against East Budleigh Res. Upottery will now face Bradninch Town later this
