Cronies bring the Colyton curtain down, Upottery penalise Town

Awliscombe pull off big shock in Division Five

Cronies came out winners by some margin at previously unbeaten Colyton and the pair face each other again next week. Cronies were 5-2 winners and will be out to repeat their success when they meet in the Devon Premier cup next saturday. The two sides met back in August drawing 1-1 at Coronation fields.
Premier leaders Newtown were held to a 1-1 draw at Upottery thanks to an equalising penalty. The result put an end to Towns awesome winning streak which was in double figures.

Other headlines: Valley up to third after beating Seaton 4-2. Apologies re incorrect info about Okehampton winning at Exmouth Town, sadly there are still jokers about but hopefully now removed. The Okes did win but only 2-1.

Whipton & Pinhoe win the big game at Crediton in Division Two, and the University take over as Div 3 leaders deposing East Budleigh 4-0.

Awliscombe United who were without a point came from a goal down to shock 100% Div 5 leaders Upottery who had won every match this season in league and cup.

The Village Inn racked up a massive 17 goals against Kenn Valley in Division Seven which made Dawlish United’s bakers dozen in Div 8  against Amory Green Rovers look a little tame.

Lympstone are into last 16 of the Firewatch Devon Senior cup winning 4-1 at Tipton St John, and Westexe Park Rangers into last 16 of the Devon Intermediate cup with a 4-1 win at Bradninch Town.

Post requested by Priory football manager Steve White

Priory 1st team would like to pay tribute to the refereeing standards displayed in their Bill Slee cuptie at Winkleigh today Saturday 27 Oct by Mr Gerald Luscombe who was excellent every time he was called to make a decision. And while it was a game played by two teams going all out to win Mr Luscombe allowed the correct use of advantage, plenty of common sense and a willingness to be part of a good game without making a spectacle of himself. “Well done Mr Luscombe we would have you reffing every week
