No quarter given in the County Premier cup

Better news in Senior and Intermediate

All three Devon County cups were won by East Devon teams last season, and that could still be repeated but not the best of days for our remaining Devon & Exeter teams. Both our two survivors Exwick Villa and Elmore went out of the Throgmorton Premier Cup, the eagles losing 3-1 to Teignmouth and Villa beaten 2-0 at many time winners Newton Abbot Spurs which means the SWPL have the trophy to themselves.

The League was already assured of two places in the last eight of the Firewatch Devon Senior Cup with Colyton getting a walkover against Dawlish,  and then Sidmouth Town Res winning at Thorvertons Raddon Road then add to that a top performance by Chagford against Buckland Athletic means the League has three names in the hat for mondays draw.

However we are down to two in the Intermediate cup with Elmore Res winning 2-1 at Millwey Rise, and Black Swan Town triumphing 3-2 after extra time at Torrington. Exits for Hemyock and Exeter United.

Because of the cup, Newtown took over over as Premier leaders thanks to a battling 2-1 win at Beer Albion, but third place Cronies were only able to pocket a point with a late late 3-3 draw at home to Okehampton Argyle.

Heavitree United were relieved to win their big derby with Topsham Town 2-1, Newton St Cyres who were are at home to Exmouth Town had the day off as the seasiders failed to raise a team, but Upottery are up to fourth  with their fourth win on the bounce with a nap hand against Clyst Valley.

Five points lead opened by the University Res in Division One, and Bampton retained their three points cushion in Division Two.

Tipton St John won their huge Division Three clash against fierce rivals Ottery St Mary 5-1 who failed to lift their game to avoid an embarrassing double. Sandford and Crediton United drew 3-3 in their derby meeting.

Spreyton and Uplowman enjoyed a feast of goals in their respective cup ties. Spreyton put eleven past Kenn Valley in the Geary cup and Uplowman smashed ten past Otterton in the Bill Slee cup with their finest display this season.
