Newtown recovery dents Cronies hopes

Colyton complete double against vikings now aiming for treble

Newtown came from a goal down to beat Cronies 4-2 and that may have scuppered their slender hopes of the Premier title. Now both Town and Cronies are probably chasing runners up spot along with Exwick Villa who managed to edge Newton St Cyres 2-1

With Elmore despatching Hatherleigh 4-0, they are six points clear and with matches in hand the eagles can virtually glide home.

At the other end of the table Topsham Town lost in the last minute to Beer Albion and their survival hopes were damaged further with Seaton winning at Exmouth.

Unbeaten Colyton completed a 2-1 league double against Sidmouth Town Res in Division One and are aiming to make it a treble when the pair meet later this week in the Firewatch Devon Senior cup final at Newton Abbot.

Div 2 leaders Bampton drew 3-3 at Woodbury which keeps them on course for the title, but there was disappoinment for Crediton Res in Div 3 where they went down 3-2 at Otterton.

16 played 16 wins for Div 4 leaders Whipton & Pinhoe, and an extra boost with Winchester losing to North Tawton.

Two days after their County cup success Elmore Res lost for the second time in Div 5 at Lyme Regis. Beaten finalists Black Swan lifted their spirits with double figures against gallant Offwells Rangers.
