Premier really boiling up on day of shocks and surprises

Gods of thunder end Whiptons incredible unbeaten run

Premier leaders Exwick Villa hit seven without reply against their visitors from the Valley, but life was not so easy elsewhere. Main rivals Newtown had to dig deep to come from behind to beat Witheridge 2-1, Cronies grabbed a time added on winner after missing a penalty to notch the same scoreline at Lyme while Colyton hopes were blunted by a derby defeat at Beer after coming back twice.

Big score wins for Feniton and Upottery, and a cracker at Seaton leaves Topsham still on the bottom rung.

All three away teams in Division One get maximum points, but what a day for shocks in Division Three. Thorverton steal the limelight as they end Whipton & Ponhoe’s incredible 36 match unbeaten run, Honiton get their first points with victory at Halwill, and Uplowman shock Crediton 5-2. The Royal Oak regain top spot but the tigers did not lie down quietly, and the University were upended at Newtown.

Division Three leaders Ottery run closer than expected at Clyst Valley, while Axmouth who shipped 15 goals at Ottery last week, turn over Newton St Cyres 3-1.

Big win for East Budleigh against neighbours Otterton, and goals galore at Sandford who won 8-5 against Budleigh Salterton and both teams hit the woodwork umpteen times.

Eagles now five points clear as Division Four leaders as they packed Feniton off 8-0.

Upottery win the big Division Five match against Cranbrook 5-1, Div 6 leaders Kentisbeare nap hand to beat Offwell, while unbeaten Spreyton inflict a first defeat of the season on Cheriton Fitzpaine after the fixture was switched to Cheriton.

Div 7 leaders Cowick Barton 3-1 winners against title rivals East Budleigh, but Broadclyst recovered from last weeks reverse by hitting HT Dons for six.

Top three in Division Eight all get maximum points but Elmore had their 100% record ended by Sandford from a 3-3 draw.
