Rangers and Wooders pull out
Double whammy again for Division One
Cullompton Rangers and Woodbury have both withdrawn their teams from Division One. The Rangers had hoped to continue by calling on many of their Under 18 players, while Woodbury have lost a number of key players and some of their more experienced ones have called time on their playing days. It means the League will be without a Rangers side possibly for the first time since they reformed just after the war.
Woodbury would have been playing at this level for the first time in their history, so the closure marks a sad day. Just two decades ago they had intense rivalry with neighbours Woodbury Salterton and now both have disappeared from the football map.
The double exit means Division One will be reduced to 12 teams.
