South Zeal staying put

Pleas for help pays off

South Zeal United who have had a football club for the best part of 90 years and were in danger of folding have decided to carry on. The club issued an SOS on Social Media to try and raise more interest and that seems to have paid off as they have announced the following.

SOUTH ZEAL WILL CONTINUE!!
After a good reaction to the news of the club folding last week the decision has been made to enter the team into next season. With the league restructuring we have also found ourselves promoted to division 4!
However this doesn’t mean all is well with the club. We still are short of the number of players needed to make it through next season.
So please SPREAD THE WORD to anyone who may be interested in joining
There will be a meet up/kick about down the recreation ground at 6:30 this Thursday 22nd. All old and new players welcome.!!
Please call 07429 227138 or reply via Facebook to make contact

The village side has enjoyed almost constant membership of the League since 1947, but they did have a side at least 20 years earlier than that.

Club details can be found on the League website
