Cronies crowned East Devon Senior cup champions
4-1 win against the fishermen
Cronies won the East Devon Senior Cup for the first time after beating Beer Albion 4-1 at Budleigh on Thursday. The final was held over from last season, because of the poor weather and time running out. The fishermen were in the final for the first time since the Jubilee final in 1954 when they were beaten 2-0 by Exeter City at St James Park but their wait for success will have to go on longer. It was also the second final for the Cronies who were beaten 3-2 by Newtown in the 2017 competition.
The Bill Slee cup final between Kentisbeare and Ottery St Mary, which was also held over, will now be played on Thursday 23 August also at Budleigh.
