Amory first win for 17 months

Teign Village celebrate their first win in D & E for nearly a century

What a great day for Amory Green Rovers as their first team make it through to the fourth round of the Devon Intermediate cup and their second team win their first match for almost a year and a half.
Amorys first XI squeezed through in the cup 4-3 at home to Babbacombe Corinthians.
Dolton Rangers won by the same margin at home to an Exmouth Rovers side who were giving away two divisions, and there were close calls elsewhere going to penalties. Whipton & Pinhoe finished 3-3 against AFC Dumnoni from Plymouth, but the Exeter team won 4-2 on pens.
Beacon Knights won their penalty shoot out 5-3 at Kingsbridge and Kellaton after their game also ended 3-3.
Bickleigh trounced the cup winners from two years ago Witheridge 9-0, although times have changed since then.
Starcross Dons were 2-0 winners at Central, and Sandford were elated with their long trip to Northam Lions where they came away 3-1 winners.
City Raiders edged it 3-1 against Thorverton, the University won 6-2 at home to Paignton Saints, but out go the Heart of Oak 3-2 down against Shamwickshire Rovers.

DIVISIONS 5-8

Big celebrations for new boys Teign Village as they registered their first win in the Devon & Exeter League for nearly a century. The Teigns who left to join the South Devon League decades ago are now back and won 3-0 at Axmouth United, and their reward is they are off the basement rung for the first time.

St Martins second string were able to close in on Division Five leaders Bickleigh who had cup duties, but only just with a 1-0 win against Cranbrook United.
Awliscombe United switched places with Millwey Rise after their 3-1 derby victory.

Just two matches played in Division Six. AFC Morchard Bishop moved into joint second place after breaking the Hart of Oak 3-2, while Cheriton Fitzpaine and Devon Yeoman shared the spoils from their 1-1 draw.

Three teams now share first place in Division Seven with Priory storming to a 9-0 win at home to Seaton Town which gives them goals advantage.
Exmouth Rovers had cup duties but stay second alongside Exeter Royals managed to get the better of Bradninch 2-0.
Otterton were 4-2 winners at home to Hatherleigh Town, while Whipton & Pinhoes unbeaten record was never in doubt as they flattened the University 8-1.
Westexe Park Rangers pocketed a very welcome point from a 3-3 draw against City Raiders, and there was a 1-1 draw at Newton St Cyres against visiting Phoenix.

Ex Dons maintained their grip on Division Eight winning 6-0 with ease at Millwey Rise.
Tedburn St Mary kept pace though after a 7-2 win at Starcross Dons.
Lympstone were unable to field a side for their match at home to Hemyock but the other big story of the day is for Amory Green Rovers whose 3-1 win at Farway United was the first time they have enjoyed the taste of success since May 2021 when they toppled North Tawton 3-1.
