Express cup goes to Westexe
Westexe Park Rangers captured the Football Express cup at Lords meadow Crediton on Wednesday after a convincing 4-0 victory against Cranbrook. Playing in their first ever cup final Westexe took the lead just before the break, and never looked in danger after getting a second on the hour mark. Cranbrook edged it in the first half but their finishing was off target.
The 104th FE final brought the curtain down on the local soccer season.
The first Express final was in 1909 when Bovey St Johns beat St Leonards and the last Tiverton team to win the cup was Elmore in 1961 The last Tiverton team to reach the final was Heathcoat in 1975.
