Can the ponies gallop to County cup success and end a 30 year wait

Bampton chasing Cup glory on Friday at F.A. headquarters

Bampton could become the first Devon & Exeter League team to win the Devon Premier cup for 30 years. The ponies are up against Plymouth’s Mount Gould who are slight favourites when the pair meet at Coach Road Newton Abbot this Friday August 28 ko 7pm.

The final is being streamed live on the Devon F.A. Facebook page, but spectators are only allowed in if they have obtained tickets.

This is the 51st Premier final since the competition was separated from the Devon Senior cup, and Bampton who are in their first ever season at this level would join just a handful of D and E teams to have lifted the trophy. Dawlish Town were the first winners in 1970 and then again in 1973. Exmouth Town 1971 and  Newton St Cyres 1989 were also winners with Chelston in 1990 our last cup champions.
