Colyton five points clear

League round up for Saturday Septmber 9

With most teams occupied in the County cups, Colyton took advantage to stretch their lead at the top of Premier to five points after a very convincing 4-1 win at Kentisbeare one of the teams that many would have thought might upset the odds.

Division One saw far more action but an early surprise for leaders St Martins as they suffered a 2-1 home defeat to a Lympstone side making their first appearance this season.
Hatherleigh Town joined the Minster Park team in top spot after putting paid to Ottery St Mary 3-1, Wellington made it two wins from two as they edged out Bow AAC 3-2, but a much better effort from the visitors who had lost all three opening league matches.
Newton St Cyres won an entertaining match against East Budleigh 6-3, but Dawlish Town beaten 2-0 earlier this week at Teignmouth, got their first points with a 1-0 win at home to Chard Town thanks to a 62nd minute penalty.

After a sizzling start Division Two table toppers Farway United crashed back to earth losing 4-0 at home to Central.
Beer Albion also dropped points from a 1-1 draw at home to Clyst Valley, but a second victory for Westexe Park Rangers as they kept their 100% record after their 4-2 success at Tedburn St Mary.
Having lost their two openers, Tipton St John came good at home to South Zeal United 2-1.

Budleigh Salterton may well be the team to catch in Division Three despite riding their luck a bit before getting the better of Lyme Regis 3-1.
Witheridge were too strong for Halwill where they triumphed 5-1, and move a point clear of Broadclyst who were not in action.
Heavitree United were 6-1 winners at Hemyock who are assembling their ranks after withdrawing their second team last week.
Bravehearts ran out 7-0 winners at East Budleigh in the other game played.

Just two matches played in Division Four with Honiton Town going top after their goal glut 8-0 win at Cheriton Fitzpaine.
Chagford after two heavy defeats managed their first win 4-3 in a close game at Dunkeswell Rovers.

No matches played in Division Five compared to the five clashes in Division Six which saw 33 goals spread around. Bampton as league leaders shared the points with a 1-1 draw at Sandford, while Otterton knocked in seven at Witheridge who also hit three, and City Raiders with eight at home to Cheriton Fitzpaine.
A first win for Beacon Knights 3-2 in their derby clash at home to Whipton & Pinhoe.

Division Seven leaders North Tawton moved a point clear but were held to a 2-2 draw by Uplowman United, a result emulated at Priory against City Raiders.
Bradninch with their first win 4-0 at Newton St Cyres.

Heavitree United held on to top spot in Division Eight from their 7-2 win at home to Millwey Rise, fending off Alphington who racked up a nap hand without reply at Bow.
A first win for Amory Rovers as they beat Okehampton Argyle 6-2, Lympstone up to third follwoing their 2-0 win against Farway United, and Starcross Dons off the mark winning 3-1 at City Raiders.
