DEVON PREMIER CUP Third round action

Just two Joma Premier teams will be in the draw for the fourth round of the Devon Premier cup Beer Albion and Lapford. The fishermen made the journey to face 2014 winners Watcombe Wanderers but came away with a outstanding 6-3 victory. Doubles from Chris Long and Tony Pinder, and singles from Giles Basson and George Harwood made it happen.
Lapford were comfortable 4-1 winners at Millbridge where goals from Harry Leach, Mark Tucker, Dom Stapleton and Josh Phillips did the trick.
Axminster Town were unable to emulate their previous round upset but went down gallantly 1-0 to Bere Alston.
Kentisbeare were beaten 6-3 at home by Brixham FC, and Elmore were beaten 4-2 on penalties at DC Autos in Plymouth after their normal time clash finished 1-1.

Tipton St John won a classic Senior cup battle at Exeter University to make it into the fourth round. That was the highlight of the day which saw mixed fortunes for Joma teams. Alphington, and Central are also through but Upottery went out on penalties at Ilsington Villas and a number of other ties were postponed and will need to be rescheduled for this coming saturday

A & S PAVING DEVON INTERMEDIATE CUP ROUND 3

Starcross Dons are through to round four of the Intermediate cup after a crazy 7-5 win at home to Central Park Rangers. The most convincing result came at Shamwickshire in North Devon where Bickleigh triumphed 6-1. St Thomas Social Club made it through winnng 3-1 at home to DC Autos from Plymouth, but Elmore’s long journey to Hartland Clovelly saw them out 5-0.
Thorverton beat Amory Green Rovers 5-3, John Vanstone helping himself to a hat-trick.
Uplyme who normally enjoy a good cup run were without their strongest side and it cost them as they were edged out 4-3 at Kingsteignton.
