CUP FEVER IGNITES THIS WEEK

FOUR FINALS COMING UP

Cup fever time really gets under way this week with Colyton facing Upottery in the Grandisson final at Ottery St Mary on tuesday night 7pm. The final is the first in four years since Kentisbeare won the trophy in 2019.

The following night wednesday May 10 also at Ottery is the Morrison Bell cup final between the first teams of Ottery St Mary and Sidmouth Town. These two clubs have dominated the competition for many years so their rivalry should attract another big following to Washbrook meadows.

Then on saturday May 13 Bickleigh will face their first ever County cup final when they cross swords with South Devon League Bovey Tracey Reserves for the Devon Intermediate cup. The buzzards will especially want to win this prize in memory of their late founder Tony Dascombe and the League will be right behind their ambition.

Also on saturday is the East Devon Senior cup final between Alphington and Upottery being played at St Martins Minster Park ground. The new Premier champions who won the cup some 43 years ago are looking for a league and cup double against an Upottery side who were last seasons beaten finalists.
