DEVON SENIOR CUP IS OURS ! whoever wins

CYRES V STUDENTS IN FINAL

The Robert Williams Estate Agents DEVON SENIOR CUP final will be an all Stitch2Print Devon & Exeter League affair between Exeter University Thirds and Newton St Cyres. The College are through after they beat Beesands Rovers of the South Devon League 3-1, and Newton St Cyres were 4-1 winners at home to Bow AAC. Cyres scorers today were Mike Maloney 2, Beckham Pyatt and Paul Ruddock.

The University second team won the cup seven years ago 4-2 against Lapford, but its 48 years since Newton St Cyres captured the trophy when in 1975 when they routed the British Railways staff Association club from Plymouth 6-0. Cyres scorers that day were Coke 2, Baker 2, Casling and Newberry.

The University scorers against Lapford were Defoe 2, Church and Sainsbury, with D. Tucker getting both for Lapford

A date has yet to be agreed

The Devon Intermediate cup semi final rematch between Bickleigh and Whipton & Pinhoe will be played this coming saturday March 11. The winners will face Bovey Tracey Res who were 3-0 winners at Lifton today.
