SENIOR ACTION DIVISIONS 1 – 4 and East Devon cup action
Wellington kept in the Division One title race winning 3-2 at home to Lympstone but the visitors were worthy opponents. Rohan Poulsom the star for the tangerines with a brace of goals.
Neither of the top two were in league action but plenty among the remaining matches including a goal bonanza at Newtown where the University triumphed 7-4. Sam Small went high with four, Joe Watts 2 and George Adsett for the college. Ash Mcdermid 2, Jake Ranger and an own goal for the Newts.
Almost a similar result from the derby at Halwill where Hatherleigh Town enjoyed a 7-3 success.
Topsham Town beat Chard Town 3-0 with Charlie Telford, Sam Clarke and a spectacular Ethan Chalk goal doing the job.
Upottery had to call off their game as the pitch was waterlogged.
Beer Albion regained top spot in Division Two after their 2-1 success at Chagford, however result of the day was at the University where struggling Dunkeswell Rovers pulled off a 3-3 draw. Dan Stapleton, Steve Curry and Max Mckeown with the Dunks trio.
Teignmouth made the trip to Otterton worthwhile where they won 3-0, but there were closer contests at Clyst Valley where Newton St Cyres inched home 3-2, Dylan Wilson 2 and Jimmy Islek with their goals, and at Alphington where Tedburn St Mary were edged out 2-1. George Collier and Rikki Tucker for the Alphas.
Tipton St John also won 2-1 at home to Exmouth Spartans whose Sam Dickinson scored their consolation. Great showing by Spartans Jordan Bishop.
Division Three leaders Devon Yeoman had a harder task than expected at bottom rung Exeter United, but eventually emerged 2-0 ahead.
Westexe Park Rangers also had to don their best suits to clip the University 4-3, Toby Hide 2, George Mackerness and Owen Rendall with the goals.
St Martins swapped third place with Central, Finlay Short and Hugh Stronge with the goals, while Feniton held on to fifth place with a 4-2 win at home to Seaton Town.
Hemyock won 4-0 at a disappointing Heavitree United, James Melville 2, Jack Pike and Jonny Down on target, while Honiton Town won the basement clash against Pinhoe 3-2, Corey Leisk, Nathan Selway and Ryan Salter with the hippos goals.
The top two in Division Four both won but not easily. Leaders Cranbrook saw off Witheridge 3-1 while second place Farway United were run close at Culm United before coming out best 2-1.
Bravehearts were 7-1 winners against Colyton, Greg Hooper with a hat-trick, but Bampton hopes were checked held to a 2-2 draw at home to East Budleigh.
Robbie Hallett netted both goals for Sidmouth Town 2-0 winners at Cullompton Rangers.
Alphington are through to the quarter finals of the East Devon Senior cup after winning 4-0 at East Budleigh, and they were joined by Bow AAC who won a hugely entertaining tie against Winkleigh 8-4. Ryan Gibson-Heard with a hat-trick, Matt Blakeney 2, Gavin Coles, Billy Conabeare and Grant Vincent with the Bowmen goals.
