Fingers crossed the weather holds

County cups again dominate the scene

The bad weather may have restricted the action to just three matches last week, but hopes are high for this saturday in the County cups as clubs try again to claim a place in Round 4.
In the Premier Cup Feniton have home advantage against Buckland Athletic, Cronies make the journey south to Salcombe Town, but although not yet confirmed the Bampton game at Pennycross SC from Plymouth may have been postponed. If correct Bampton will stage the game next week.

Currently everything is on in the numerous Devon Senior and Devon Intermediate cup. At least seven places for D & E teams are assured in the last 16 with some really attractive ties on offer. The pick of these is between Crediton United having a great season and they are at Millwey Rise. Just two of the Intermediate ties guarantee the league a final 16 slot. Bravehearts and Witheridge contest one, the other is between East Budleigh and Bishops Blaize.

Last saturday two victorious cup teams Beer Albion and Colyton face each other in Premier league action but the match of the day is at Simmons Park where leaders Okehampton Argyle are up against unbeaten Lapford. The University host Chagford, Whipton & Pinhoe welcome Upottery, and Seaton Town are at home to Kentisbeare, both teams desparate to get more points on the board.

Three matches are scheduled in Division One the most interesting is at Tipton St John who host Wellington and hoping they can get their first points this season.

An East Budleigh win at Uplowman Athletic would make them joint leaders, although defeat could see them lose second place to the University if they win at Uplowman.

Cup-tied Division Three leaders North Tawton could lose top spot to Hemyock if they win their trip to Halwill, while joint Division Four leaders Central and Devon Yeoman face travels to Bampton and Cranbrook respectively.

The Royal Oak are looking to reduce the five points gap on leaders Exmouth Rovers if they win against the University, while in Division 6 Offwell Rangers have the chance to move up to second place with victory at Seaton Town.

In Division 7 leaders Okehampton Argyle take their 100% record to Exeters City Raiders who have yet to chalk up a point, while Division 8 leaders Exmouth Town host Newton St Cyres.
