Fishermen make it through to Devon Premier final
Beer have a ball as they make club history
An elated Beer Albion are through to the Devon Premier cup final after edging out Exwick Villa of the Devon League 3-2. It is the first time the fishermen have ever reached a County final, and their supporters were out in force at Budleigh Salterton to cheer them on. Beer rocked Villa with some clinical finishing to go three up in thirty minutes and it could have been five. Villa did hit the bar and managed to get one back in first half injury time, and then pressed Beer after the break reducing the lead yet again. However the fishermen spurred on by their army of supporters dug in deep to stay ahead, and book their place at Coach Road Newton Abbot when they face Alphington also of the Devon League probably in mid May. The Alphas clinched their place 24 hours earlier when they won 5-4 on pens against North Molton SC after a goalless draw.
