Premier cup interest ended for League

ALL THE PREMER WEEKEND CUP AND LEAGUE ACTION

Elmore Res hopes of keeping alive the Stictch2Print Devon & Exeter League interest in the Devon Premier Cup foundered at Newtown where they were edged out 2-1 by the Devon League side. It was a gallant effort from the eagles but not their day.

Meanwhile Premier leaders Alphington cantered to a 7-0 victory at Crediton United just a week on from their narrow 2-1 win against the same side. Kirtons cause was not helped by a red card, but there was never any danger of another close contest. Goals for the Alphas came from a Tre Davey treble, a Morgan Cullen brace, Rio Potter and Tim Bradshaw.

Not such an easy win for the University as they came away from a battling Sidmouth Town 1-0, and also Kentisbeare at Clyst Valley where the visitors were delighted to win it 2-1.
Colyton saw off Dawlish United 3-0, Callum Somers 2 and Charlie Bye on target, and Lyme Regis repaired some of the damage from their loss at Okehampton Argyle a week ago with a 2-0 win in the return at Davey Ford. Steve Batey nailed his 175th goal for Lyme.
