IF THE WEATHER RELENTS THERE COULD BE DRAMA EVERYWHERE IN LEAGUE AND CUP

Rememberance day preview Saturday November 11

The weather still looks dodgy this coming weekend for the league and cup programme which sees nearly 30 Devon & Exeter League teams taking part in four County cup competitions. Remember if the ties are postponed again they will revert back to the original grounds next saturday 18 November, and that goes on until the game is resolved.

This does not apply to the two local cup ties the Bill Slee cup game at Elmore Res v Farway United and the Geary clash between Tedburn St Mary Res and Bradninch. A new date will be set for them if called off and for any postponed league games.

Four of our Premier teams are bidding for a place in their relevant County quarter finals. Three teams in the Sportslighting Devon Premier Cup see glory and all with ground advantage but the toughest action falls on Clyst Valley who take on North Molton Sports club beaten finalists just last year and a club with high ambitions.
Alphington are up against Park United from North Devon who are top of their division unbeaten after ten matches, while Sidmouth Town Res welcome Ipplepen United from the Devon League but the South Devon side are finding life tough there at the moment sitting one place above the basement rung.

Outside Devon but also in County action are Lyme Regis as they take off to Wimborne to face Allendale FC in the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance Senior cup. The Fort Davey side had a bye in the first round and are now seeking a quarter final slot.

Hatherleigh Town and St Martins are already through after last week to the third round in the Devon Senior cup and could be joined by 9 more D & E teams with holders Exeter University 3rds at home to Iflracombe Town Res, and beaten finalists Newton St Cyres facing Halwill.

There are eight Devon Intermediate cup ties that give the D & E League teams a chance to get through, but only three slots guarantee one of our sides a place in the third round.

In the league Winkleigh have the chance to rejoin Premier leaders Alphington in top spot if they can get the better of visitors Sandford, Kentisbeare are hoping to dent the University Res unbeaten record, while Lapford welcome Upottery.
Elmore Res still seek their first point as they prepare for Colytons visit, and Crediton Res are at home to Okehampton Res.

Just two matches in Division One which sees leaders St Marins at Wellington, and Dawlish United at home to an East Budleigh side looking for a boost after last weeks cup setback.

Westexe Park Rangers will go top of Division Two if they beat Tedburn St Mary who are still without a win.

Budleigh Salterton Res could move well clear of the Division Three field with a win at the University 5ths, and nearby Division Four table toppers Bickleigh face the University 6ths with every hope of preserving their 100% record.

Two matches on offer in Division Five at Millwey Rise and Whipton & Pinhoe, likewise in Division Six at Bampton and Whipton & Pinhoe again.

Uplowman United and North Tawton the top two in Division Seven come face to face, and with Heavitree Res not in action, Alphington 3rds are set to regain top spot in Division Eight if they win at Amory Rovers.
