INTERMEDIATE CUP AND LEAGUE ACTION AT THE WEEKEND

INTERMEDIATE ROUND UP

Only a sprinkling of action in the first round of the Devon Intermediate cup Starcross Dons were 4-0 winners at Newton Abbot 66, Cheriton Fitzpaine won 3-2 at Teign Village, and Exmouth Rovers through after defeating neighbours Otterton 3-0.

Phoenix United suffered a 5-0 reverse at Kingsbridge and Kellaton in South Devon, and Bradninch pulled out of their tie at home to Waldon Athletic.
St Martins went down 7-4 at home to Braunton although they almost managed to catch up after dominating the second half.

News at last from Newton St Cyres who were beaten 3-1 at Kingsley Park, but  the city derby between Whipton & Pinhoe and their visitors Ex Dons is still awaited.

INTERMEDIATE ACTION DIVISIONS 5-8

Bickleigh were much too strong for hosts Thorverton in their Division Five clash, winning 7-1 having beaten them at home already 5-0 and been given a walkover in the Express cup by the same team.
Millwey Rise are up to second place but not an easy 5-3 win for them at Amory Green Rovers.
The Heart of Oak celebrated their first win on their new ground 6-1 against Axmouth United, while two other Uniteds Awliscombe and Cranbrook shared six goals for a point apiece.

Ottery St Marys Development team beat Central 2-0 on friday evening and already hold a seven point lead from City Raiders in Division Six who in fairness have only played twice but have won both. Raiders latest success was 6-0 at home to the Beacon Knights.
Dolton Rangers were run much closer by Witheridge edging it 2-1, but Sandford had a good day as they polished off Okehampton Argyle 6-0.

Priory needed just one goal to win their Division Seven game at Exeter Royals to sit top of the table, but in turn this was the Royals first home defeat,
Whipton & Pinhoe won their opening match 7-0 at Westexe Park Rangers, and City Raiders claimed their first win of the season 3-1 at Hatherleigh Town.

Three teams share top spot in Division Eight, North Tawton despite being held to a 2-2 draw at home to Lympstone which was their first point. Hemyock 4-2 winners at home to Farway United, and Ex Dons who slipped back as they were in cup action.
Starcross Dons climbed the table after a 3-1 win at home to Bampton, while Tedburn St Mary romped to a 6-1 win against Millwey Rise.
The match between Bow and Amory Green Rovers was postponed as AMG failed to raise a side.
