LEAGUE SECRETARY REPORT 1963
60 years on report from League Secretary Walt Sanders
51 CLUBS WERE REPRESENTED AT THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
JUNE 1963
In presenting this report I think I can claim that the League has come through the past season (1962/63) with a reasonable amount of success. This is all the more creditable in view of the worse weather conditions ever, which unfortunately necessitated in the postponement of 330 matches over the 7 week period from December 19th to February 9th. Altogether 529 matches have been re-arranged in an endeavour to get all games played. Despite a magnificent effort by Mr Hoar in re-arranging all these games, two remain unplayed.
I am sure the number of matches which had to be re-arranged could have been less if the East Devon cups competition had worked in closer harmony with the League…….I only hope in future that a better understanding will evolve for the future.
