LEAGUE & CUP ACTION THIS WEEKEND HIT BY THE WEATHER

SATURDAY DECEMBER 9 PREVIEW

After putting behind them the disappointment of their Devon County cup exit, Premier leaders and reigning champions Alphington set about the task of keeping ahead of their rivals when they welcome Sandford this weekend. The Alphas also protect an unbeaten record so their visitors will do well to avoid defeat.
Just one other match still survives Winkleigh hosting Elmore Res

The three Division One matches been postponed but one survivor in Division Two at the University where the 4ths welcome Beer Albion Res.

The University 5ths are also the only team at present staging a Division Three match against neighbours Alphington 3rds.

All the action in Division Four has gone but Starcross Dons could widen their nine points gap at the top of Division Five if they see off Awliscombe United with neither of their two main rivals in league action.

Ex Dons become the seventh team to try and burst the bubble of Division Six leaders Railway FC when they clash at the Archery club, this is the only match remaining.

Only one Division Seven contest left at Priory where they take on Newton St Cyres Res  and in Division Eight with Bow AAC Res staging their local derby with Okehampton 3rds.

The Devon Senior cup holders Exeter University 3rds have home advantage for their delayed second round tie at home to Lympstone, but in the Devon Intermediate cup formers league members Axminster Town Res who have returned to the Perry Street League were due at Minster Park to face St Martins Res chasing a quarter final slot which would see the winners going to South Brent in February. However this is postponed and will probably switch back to Tiger land next saturday.

Newtown Res and Sidmouth Town Res second round tie in the East Devon Senior cup is also off. and a new date will need to be arranged.
