Farway United suffer shock defeat at East Budleigh

SENIOR ACTION DIVISIONS 1 – 4

An elated Lympstone stole the show winning for the first time this season with a 2-0 victory against Chard Town. Andre Anjos and Toby Pike shared the Lympets goals and the win took them off the foot of the Division One table.
Sandford and runaway leaders Crediton United battled out a 3-3 draw in front of a big crowd which was the standout match in Senior football. Dean Jones with a brace and Sam Reeve for the delighted King George’s team although they did feel slightly robbed.
However Alphington in second place also drew 1-1 at the University, George Adsett with the college goal, so the only top side to benefit were Wellington as they edged Hatherleigh Town 1-0. Logan Sellick was the tangerines matchwinner.
Upottery climbed to fourth after their 4-3 victory at home to East Budleigh, whose Jack Greenslade notched a compensation brace. Rian Hill with their third. Owen McCreadie-Taylor with two home goals, Steve Morris and Ashley Munt one each.
Topsham Town ran out 5-0 winners at Halwill who slip onto the bottom rung.
Bow AAC slipped backwards after losing 2-1 at home to Newtown.

Still no stopping Division Two pacemakers Beer Albion as they sent Tedburn St Mary away beaten 4-1. Max Richarson with a double, Harry Lawrence and Reece Best with the goals, Callum Sibley with the teds reply.
Winkleigh had to dig a little harder to beat Newton St Cyres 3-2, Dylan Wilson with both Cyres goals.
The University moved into the top three after their 3-1 win at Tipton St John, Tom Hutchinson with two goals and Armando Bognadov.
Otterton proved too hot for Clyst Valley where they ran out 6-1 winners. Dan Tapp 2, Camerton Brown, Matt Lidstone, Chris Swancott and Dale Roberts with the goals.

St Martins were able to cut the lead at the top of Division Three after beating Hemyock 4-0, but rivals Westexe Rovers slipped up as they were held 2-2 by Pinhoe.
Another 2-2 draw was the outcome at Honiton against Heavitree United. Kieron Pike and Ryan Pike with the hippos goals.
Central closed in on the top three as they blew Feniton away 5-0, and that took them ahead of Lyme Regis held to a goalless draw at Seaton Town.
The University beat Exeter United 6-0 or was it 7-0? Goalscorers claimed by the college were Young and Gibson 2 each, Scanlon, Whiteford and Wilson.

Farway United suffered their first defeat in Division Four crashing 3-2 at East Budleigh, and that was a bonus for Bampton who moved closer to the leaders after their 2-0 win against Culm United. Luke Andrews with both goals.
South Zeal United beat Sidmouth Town 5-0 to improve their situation goals coming from Tom Walsh, Josh Tickner, James Bridgman and Dillon Nicholas.
Elsewhere Witheridge won at Broadclyst 4-0, and Cullompton Rangers won the basement battle against Colyton 8-1.
