Alphas stumble at Newtown

SENIOR ACTION DIVISIONS 1 – 4

Following their dismal start to the season Lympstone are finally getting their act together in Division One and began the new year with a 3-2 win at the University. Jay Labaleur with two goals and Chris Hooker for the Lympets. Dan Allchin and George Adsett getting the college goals.
However the big story came at Newtown where title chasing Alphington were edged out 1-0. Jarvis Cocker with the only goal.
Wellington Town also suffered a surprise defeat losing 4-2 at Topsham Town, but that was a boost for Bow AAC as they closed up to the top four with a comfortable 4-1 victory at Hatherleigh Town. Ryan Dunster 2, Matt Baker and Pete Steer with the visitors goals.
Dean Jones hit all four goals for Sandford as they won 4-0 at Halwill, East Budleigh happy with a 3-1 win at home to Upottery.

Beer Albion suffered a disappointing 6-3 defeat at Teignmouth, but still remain Division Two leaders. Winkleigh closed to within a point after their 4-0 victory at home to the University.
Otterton won a close match against Clyst Valley 2-1, Matt Lidstone and Camerton Brown with their goals, Stuart Tuckett earning the man of the match award.
Exmouth Spartans also won narrowly 3-2 at home to Chagford, Rob Welsman, Sam Dickinson and Maxon Howard on the mark.
Tipton St John enjoyed an extravagent 6-2 win at home to Tedburn St Mary. Kyle Bassett and Ash Barker both netting twice, Jody Freeman and Jamie Faulkner one.

Westexe Park Rangers kept their challenge going strong in Division Three as they cantered to a 4-0 win at Feniton.
St Martins also pocketed maximum points after seeing off the University 4-1. Finlay Short, Josh Jays, James Goldsmith and Sam McGahon shring the goals.
Hat-tricks from Reece McCabe and Ed Kenworthy earned Seaton Town a 6-4 win at Pinhoe, while Heavitree United beat city rivals Exeter United 3-1, Kevin Hunter with their consolation.

The Division Four leaders Farway United had their progress checked by a delighted Broadclyst in a 2-2 draw.
Bampton in third place edged Bravehearts 3-2 in a very competitive match. Luke Jones and Tom Rhodes with the braves goals.
Witheridge won an entertaining contest at South Zeal 4-2, Dan Lane, Adam Pincombe, Zack Jones and Matt Osman scoring. Connor Mills and Callum Rutley with the home goals.
Millwey Rise beat Culm United 3-1 in the other match played.
