EASTER MONDAY ACTION APRIL 1

Easter monday saw a sprinkling of league and cup fixtures with a real upset in the Division One with Teignmouth Res wrecking the 100% away record of leaders St Martins. The Coombe Valley side produced a tremendous performance which may now cost the Minster Park side the title race.

In Division Two South Zeal United also won by a single goal against visiting Farway United 1-0.

The Division Four match between leaders Bickleigh and AFC Morchard Bishop was called off as the visitors were unable to field a side.

In Division Six a much relieved Sandford Res sitting next to last edged a nail-biter 4-3 against an heroic ten man Axmouth United the only team below them but the gap between the pair is now eleven points.

However there was major progress in the East Devon Senior cup with East Budleigh winning 2-0 against Newton St Cyres to join Kentisbeare in the semi finals. A round behind Upottery won a thriller against Winkleigh 3-2, and will now face the University Res for the right to face East Budleigh.
Newtown Res also made it through to the quarters on penaties 5-3 against Premier division Sidmouth Town Res after the pair ended at 1-1. Newtown will now face either Crediton Res or Elmore Res who meet on the 16th.

The Football Express cup tie between City Raiders and Ex Dons was postponed, as was the City Raiders Res tie in the Geary cup at Farway United Res. However Tedburn St Mary Res made the quarter finals by knocking out Bradninch 3-2,  and will now meet newly crowned Division Eight champions Alphington 3rds for a place in the semi finals.

On wednesday there are two Grandisson cup ties to be resolved. Lyme Regis have a derby tie against Colyton and another relative neighbourly showdown between Sidmouth Town Res and East Budleigh.
