The 77th Geary Cup will feature a new name after tomorrows final between Uplowman United and Exeter Universitys 8th team. The final kicks off at 2pm at Minster Park Exminster, and good support is likely from both clubs as there are few other league or cup matches being played with the season drawing to a close. Historians amongst you may like to know that the original Geary trophy was donated by the members and supporters of Heavitree United in memory of their secretary and a founder member of Exeter & District League Harry Geary.
The first winners were St Marks Res who defeated Budleigh Salterton Res 5-1 at St James Park on 10 May 1935.

Tonight (friday) Westexe Park Rangers travel to Division Two hosts Farway United needing to win by a margin of 14 goals to catch Central FC and finish as runners up, or 32 goals to overtake the leaders University 4ths and become champions. I guess the odds are slightly stacked against them but nothing can be ruled out.

The other big league game on Saturday is at Otterton where they are hoping to close the gap on Ex Dons who occupy second place but whose season has ended. The rollers host Bampton but even a loss would still leave them with two matches to got the five points needed to be runners up.

Outside of the league the Devon Senior Cup final takes place at Newton Abbot between Newton Abbot Spurs Res and Paignton Saints. County cup supporters may want to watch the game from home and it can be followed live on the County Facebook page kick off 2pm.
