Newtown check the leaders
St Martins unbeaten record busted at Tedburn
SENIOR DIVISION 1-4
Newtown did their best to wreck Division One leaders Upotterys unbeaten record but a tough game ended 1-1. Tom Cligg with the visitors goal after Bryan Gilpin scored the hosts goal.
That enabled Winkleigh to close the gap with a solid 4-0 victory at Teignmouth.
Wellington were checked at Beer Albion where they drew 2-2, Rohan Poulsom with both goals, but the University maintained their challenge winning 3-0 at home to Newton St Cyres. Dewi Paris with a brace for the college.
East Budleigh came back from Chard Town 2-0 in pocket, Liam West and Adam Wilkinson scoring and there were big celebrations at Hatherleigh Town where they doubled their wins for the season as they undid Lympstone 2-0 as well.
Tedburn St Mary stole the show in Division Two as they holed St Martins unbeaten record. The Teds won 2-1 at home with Rob Davey and Liam Smith scoring.
That result was a massive one for leaders Exeter University who were 8-3 winners at Farway United. Some respite for the home side with goals from Tom Burrough, River Leisk and and Jake Lee.
Cranbrook cut it fine to beat Feniton 3-2, but a good day for Central who were 5-1 winners at Westexe Park Rangers. Nick Horne with a hat-trick, George Goodchild and Ross Clotworty scoring. Toby Hide with the home goal.
Tipton St John had the day off as their expected visitors Clyst Valley were unable to get a side together.
Hemyock and South Zeal United joined day off Heavitree United as Division Three leaders. Hemyock were 4-1 winners at Bravehearts with a Martin Loader hat-trick Ash Saunders getting their goals, and South Zeal won 3-0 away at Lyme Regis with Sam Jones, Connor Mills and Owen Rutley scoring.
The University kept in the hunt with a 6-2 win at home to Chagford, but both AFC Exe and Witheridge are keeping in touch. Exe managed to topple Seaton Town 1-0 Will Burwood with the goal, and Witheridge were 2-1 winners at Bampton where Lee Cole and Rafa Sotomayer found the ponies net.
Halwill and Broadclyst shared the spoils from a 3-3 draw, a first for the visitors this season.
St Thomas march on as Division Four leaders, after a comfortable 4-1 win at home to Sidmouth Town. Declan Voaden with a hat-trick and Dave Wilkes scoring.
Second place Exeter University also won 4-1 at Cheriton Fitzpaine, but East Budleighs challenge may have foundered as they were beaten 4-1 by Cullompton Rangers. Josh Trump 2, Finn Potter and Makan Coulibaly with the Rangers goals, Lewis Fletch replying.
Alphington routed Culm United 8-0 with Jake Dack, Liam Sullivan and Chris Powell all weighing in with doubles. Cody Scott-Gibbs and Charle Webb added aces.
Budleigh Salterton beat Elmore 3-1 with Matt Lidstone 2 and Jack Hocking scoring. Dan Cole had the eagles reply.
