NO HAPPY MEADOW FOR THE BUZZARDS AS SAINTS STEAM THROUGH IN EXPRESS CUP

City Raiders roll goes on with a royal win in the Geary cup

INTERMEDIATE ROUND UP

DIVISIONS 5-8

Division Five leaders Bickleigh may be eight points clear of second place St Martins but had to bow to their guest rivals when the pair clashed in the Football Express cup at Happy meadows where the Saints won through 2-1.
However in the league the Heart of Oak had the day off so Whipton & Pinhoe were able to close on the top three but they only managed a 3-2 win against rock bottom Amory Green Rovers.
Cranbrook United also ran it close to get the better of Axmouth United 2-1, while Awliscombe United went down 3-1 at home to the University.
Millwey Rise won 4-3 at home to a Teign Village side getting better each week, and there was another close contest at Starcross Dons where Thorverton scored the only goal for the points.

Just three matches played in Division Six and big disappointment for Morchard Bishop as they went down 2-1 to a Central Res side currently on a roll.
The top game between the Dolton Rangers and the City Raiders was a victim of the weather, but that enabled Upottery to shorten the gap with a 2-0 win at Sandford and for Cheriton Fitzpaine to climb away from danger as they won 2-1 at home to Witheridge.

Exmouth Rovers regained top spot in Division Seven with their 5-1 victory at Newton St Cyres, but both Exeter rivals Priory and Whipton & Pinhoe kept pace. Priory were 6-3 winners at Bradninch, while the Whips ran up an 11-0 win at bottom of the table Phoenix United.
Otterton had to work harder for their 2-1 win at Hatherleigh Town.

No mercy from Division Eight leaders Ex Dons as they saw off neighbours Lympstone 5-0.
Bampton also went nap winning 5-1 against North Tawton, Bow AAC settled for a two goal victory at home to Starcross Dons, and Millwey Rise won their derby at Hemyock 3-0.

Ciyt Raiders enjoyed a surprise 2-1 win at home to Exeter Royals in the Geary cup, and an entertaining tie at Tedburn St Mary where the second string went out 6-4 to Westexe Park Rangers.
