Otters win Senior cup at a canter
Webb stars with hat-trick
Ottery St Mary Reserves won the Firewatch Devon Senior Cup for the second time in their history after a convincing 4-1 victory against Northam Lions. The otters never looked back after opening their account in the first minute through Tony Cox. Matt Webb the man of the match then scored to make it 2-0 and netted twice more in the second half as Ottery sailed out of sight. Adam Copp pulled one back for a deserved Lions consolation but the North Devon League side finished well beaten.
The win comes 33 years after Ottery Reserves lifted the trophy in 1988 5-1 winners against Elmore Res, and that’s 2-0 up on their first team whose appearance in the 1960 final ended in a 7-2 defeat against Torquay United Reserves.
