Phoenix celebrate a first ever victory

DIVISIONS 5-8

Bickleigh kept their firm grip as Division Five leaders but the Heart of Oak were no pushover before wilting 3-1 to the buzzards.
Second place St Martins suffered a 6-1 reverse by the University, and that allowed Starcross Dons to tuck themselves a point behind after a close 4-3 win at Thorverton.
Awliscombe United proved too strong for new boys Teign Village winning 6-2, Whipton & Pinhoe were stretched by Cranbrook United before coming out on top 2-0, while Amory Green Rovers came close to their first victory drawing 3-3 at Axmouth United.

Just one goal separated the top game in Division Six with leaders Ottery St Mary getting the points from a 1-0 win against Dolton Rangers.
Second place City Raiders had an easier task at Cheriton Fitzpaine where the triumped 5-1, as did Morchard Bishop 6-2 winners at Devon Yeoman.
Sandford nicked the points at Central 2-1 but Witheridge and Beacon Knights split them with a 2-2 draw at Edge Down Park.

The big game in Division Seven saw leaders Exmouth Rovers win their derby against Otterton 4-3, but the big story was at Uplowman where Phoenix United won their first every match 4-3 at home to Newton St Cyres.
Priory had a far easier task at Westexe PR winning 7-2, as did Whipton & Pinhoe at home to Seaton Town with a 7-1 victory.
Exeter Royals had to dig deep to keep a lively Hatherleigh Town at bay but the Royals won it 2-0.
Just one draw in this division between the University and Bradninch which finished 3-3.

Division Eight leaders Ex Dons ran away with their game at Amory Green Rovers where it ended 10-1.
They also gained ground on Bow AAC held to a 0-0 draw at North Tawton.
Millwey Rise went on a goal spree at home to Farway United, winning 9-0 in their derby clash.
South Zeal United came away from Hemyovk 3-1 winners, while Starcross Dons pocked the points as they beat Lympstone 3-2.
