Intermediate round up in League and cup

INTERMEDIATE ACTION DIVISIONS 5-9

Plenty of sparkling action in the lower divisions but sadly two damp squibs as both Pinhoe have withdrawn their reserve team and Sidmouth Town have finally abandon their fourth team after gallantly trying their best to keep the show on the road.
Division Five tabletoppers AFC Exe romped to an 8-1 win at Amory Green Rovers, whose sole reply came from Darren Heale, which keeps them six points clear of Elmore who had a far tougher ask at Dawlish United before they emerged 4-3 winners. Corey Groover with a double, Tom Bedingham and Ryan Morgan with the eagles goals. Tom Aldridge had all three of the Dawlish goals.
Cheriton Fitzpaine settled for a single goal win at Awliscombe United to keep with the pace.
The University are picking up speed as their 7-0 win at Upottery showed, while Cranbrook United picked up just their second win 1-0 away to Topsham Town, James Gosney with the goal.

Okehampton Argyle remain as Division Six leaders after a convincing 7-2 win at Witheridge. Mike Difford and Craig Way goals earned Withy some respite.
St Thomas moved up to second after a narrow 3-2 win at home to Uplyme but it was close. San Haggar, Scott Ofield and Dave Wilkes were the Saints marksmen, Wes Holmes bagged both for Lyme.
The eye-stopper was at the University where Kenn Valley United suffered a 7-2 reverse. Lachlan Baker, Mike Thurbin and Harry Kent all scored twice for the college, Finn McCarthy adding a single. Kerry Price and Jamie Sly replied for Kenn.
Bickleigh proved too strong for Seaton Town where they were victorious 9-1.

AFC Morchard Bishop held on to top place in Division Seven after a 5-1 win at home to Thorverton. Adam Bell 2, Jason Leat, Alfie Egleton and Chris Andrews scoring.
Starcross Dons are hot on their heels winning 3-0 at home to Dolton Rangers, Jack Downey, Jordan Whittaker and Darol Whittle splitting the goals.
Sheridan Vile struck twice for Bradninch in their 6-0 win against Otterton, the others coming from Rob Draper, Ryan Upham, Todd Scrace and Ryan Trump.
Alex Rowe scored twice as Beacon Knihts won at Priory 4-1. Timon Brown and Liam Vile with singles.

Free scoring Division Eight leaders Whipton & Pinhoe had to settle for a 1-0 win at City Raiders to keep their run going, Andrew Felton getting the goal.
Second place Cranbrook United had their wings clipped at Newton St Cyres losing 3-2, Mark Budd, Nathan Hubble and Tom Roberts with the Cyres outcome.
That gave the Heart of Oak chance to get closer as they beat the University 3-1, Harvey Gilson with the college reply.
Exeter Panthers and Bow AAC drew 2-2, Ben Lester and Owen Lester scoring for the Panthers who debuted Harvey McWilliams and Nathan Hopkins and both made good impressions.
Westexe Park Rangers had too much firepower for Millwey Rise where they won 7-1.

No stopping Division Nine leaders City Raiders as they powered to a 3-0 success at Whipton & Pinhoe. Niall Burland, Adam Ziff and Jack Cole with the goals.
Closest rivals Ex Dons overran Amory Green Rovers11-0, Max Reader 4, Alex Bowyer 2, Ben Turner 2, Callum Meldrum, Joe Stevens and an own goal charting.
South Zeal United were held 2-2 by Hemyock which favoured Feniton as they defeated Starcross Dons7-3. Ashton Beck starring with a hat-trick. Ben Turner 2, Terry Marles and Sam O’Nyons also scored. Marc Gibbs, Charlie Locke and George Minty scored for the Dons.
Exmouth Rovers beat Hatherleigh Town 3-2, Brandon Hodge 2 and Colin Gourlay scoring for the winners.

DEVON INTERMEDIATE CUP
Falcons got the better of Sandford by a single goal to stake their place in Round 4 and will now be at home to Cheriton Fitzpaine in December.
