Robins nestle into round 2 County cup
Lots of goals in Bill Slee cup
SENIOR ACTION DIVISIONS 1 – 4
Budleigh Salterton made it into round two of the Devon Senior cup after a cracking extra time victory on penalties against Horrabridge Rangers. The tie which had been brought forward a wekk, saw the two rivals finish at 3-3 with Max Robertson, Ryan Mitchell and Tariq Gasmi on target for the chirpy robins who then just edged the shoot out.
The Bill Slee cup saw the other main action at Senior level and here again there will be a new name on the trophy as the current holders Devon Yeoman have folded their first team.
St Martins could be one of the favourites as they flattened Clyst Valley 9-2 Liam Strong with four goals, Finlay Short and James Goldsmith both getting a brace, Josh Jays adding a single. The Valley goals came from Dan Holman and Alex Quaife.
Halwill won a thriller against Broaclyst 7-5, while Alphington enjoyed a 5-2 success at Culm United with Sam Washbourne scoring twice, Owen Sullivan and brother Liam once, and Chris Powell once.
Heavitree United came undone 2-1 at Cranbrook, and a smilar scoreline saw Feniton go down at Seaton Town.
Victories for Dawlish 1-0 at home to Dunkeswell Rovers, Central 3-2 at Elmore and Bampton 3-1 at home to East Budleigh after a late kick off.
Witheridge are also through as opponents Lyme regis were unable to field a side.
Limited league action but the top game saw Wellington win 2-0 at Topsham Town in the solitary Division One match, while Tipton St John and Exmouth Spartans shared a 1-1 draw in the only Division Two clash.
Hemyock took over as Division Three leaders following a 3-1 win against a Chagford side still without a point, while South Zeal United managed to just get the better of Bravehearts 3-2 in the other game on offer.
St Thomas Social Club head Division Four with three wins from three but they had to work hard to despatch Cullompton Rangers 2-1.
A feast of goals at Sidmouth Town where they beat Uplyme 6-4, and a startling 6-1 win for Colyton at Cheriton Fitzpaine which few would have seen coming. Scorers for Colyton were Kian Bedwell 2, Matt Young, Archie Clode, Corbin and Finlay Cox.
