Senior Divisions round up with goals by the bucketful
SENIOR ACTION DIVISIONS 1 – 4
Upottery set the pace in Division One after their narrow 2-1 victory against East Budleigh on friday evening. With a seven goal success already under their belts the village team sit ahead of their rivals and are enjoying the view. Owen McCreadie-Taylor and Steve Morris with the goals against Budleigh.
Newtown put behind them their opening day defeat to take care of Bow AAC 3-0 also on friday evening. Ryan Gilpin, Ben Howard and Aaron James with the goals.
Winkleigh and Hatherleigh Town both hoping for a good season shared a really entertaining 4-4 draw. The visitors goals came from Connor Madge, Jamie Atherton, Jamie Mallett and Matt Dennis.
Lympstone and Wellington also drew but neither could find the net, while over at Topsham Town they wiped away the nightmare of their opening day at Upottery with a 3-2 win against Chard Town.
Beer Albion enjoyed their first ever league victory at this level but they were run close by Newton St Cyres before edging it 3-2. Ashley Driver, Kyle Gould and Taylor Rooke with the home goals, Bekham Pyatt and James Baker responding for the Cyres.
Cranbrook and Westexe Park Rangers put their noses together at the top of Division Two and both won 2-1 away from home. Cranbrook were at Tedburn St Mary whose Andrew Spokes had their goal, while Westexe were at Clyst Valley, Toby Hide and George Harvey with their goals. Ayodeji Akinpelu was the Valley scorer.
Tipton St John clocked up a 2-0 win at Farway United on friday with brothers Josh and Ollie Bradley scoring.
Not many will be surprised that Heavitree United and Witheridge have forged to the top of Division Three. The Heavies routed South Zeal United 8-2 led by a Kieran Townsend treble, Bailey Smith treble, Mark McIntosh and Martin Tyrer. Sam Jones and Connor Mills with the home reply.
Witheridge were also on form at Halwill where they ran out 6-1 winners, Adam Leat getting a hattrick. Rafael Sotomayor, Alex Jones and Dan Greening with singles. Andy Wonnacott was the Halwill striker.
AFC Exe were too good for Chagford winning 7-0 with seven of the team getting in on the act. Brandon Green, Ross Bonner, Will Burwood, Jock Cutting, Kristian Katunsky, Jake Murphy and Simon Piper.
Seaton Town won their derby against Lyme Regis 3-1, James Rockett with a double and Mark Perham scoring. Tom Chapple getting one back for the visiting seasiders.
Bampton edged Broadclyst 2-1 in their clash.
What a feast of goals in Division Four with 41 from the five matches played. East Budleigh head the table after a 7-3 success at Cheriton Fitzpaine. Two goal Rian Hill, Joe Bowden, Thomas Christian, Ross Bright, Ben Wilks and another doing the job for Budleigh.
Eleven goals at Culm United where St Thomas Social Club were 8-3 winners. Jackson Maloney and Rikki Tuker both with doubles, Reilly Evans, Josh Jerrett, Charlie May and Mark Simpson with the rest.
Budleigh Salterton won a corker at Alphington 4-3, a Matt Lidstone treble getting the robins home. sub Sam Hollis also scored. Chris Powell 2 and Jake Dack with the Alhpas return.
Sidmouth Town also won a thriller at Colyton 4-2 with Mark Paton, Charlie Roberts, Frank Long and Sam Burhop finding the target. Kian Bedwell and Archie Knox earning Colyton some respite.
