STAR GAZING DONS NEARLY OUT OF SIGHT

INTERMEDIATE ROUND UP SATURDAY OCTOBER 21

St Martins Res did their best to stop their neighbours Starcross Dons galloping away with the Division Five title but it finished in vain for the home side 5-2. The Dons have now won all seven of their matches so far and remain 15 points clear of second place University 7ths who were 7-2 winners at Exeter United. They also stay that margin ahead of Awliscombe United who won 1-0 at Tops United which was their second defeat.

An elated Railway FC are the new Division Six leaders after a 2-0 win at home to nearest neighbours Beacon Knights.
Whipton & Pinhoe remain second thanks to a close call 2-1 win against Witheridge Res, while Otterton beat Cheriton Fitzpaine Res 3-1 to go third but it was a harder task than they expected.
Ex Dons also had a tough ask at Exeter Royals but scraped in 3-2, and Axmouth United gave it a go against City Raiders despite going down 3-0.

Uplowman Athletic remain unbeaten and take over as leaders in Division Seven after winning 5-1 at home to Bradninch.
City Raiders were knocked off their perch by North Tawton whose 4-2 victory takes them into third place.
The University 8ths were far too powerful for Phoenix United , while Newton St Cyres won their game against neighbours Tedburn St Mary Res 3-1.

Alphington 3rds closed the gap on Division Eight leaders Heavitree Res, with a 3-0 win at home to the City Raiders 3rds, and because Heavitree had their match against Farway postponed because of an unfit pitch at Wingfield.
Bow AAC Res won an interesting clash with Millwey Rise Res 6-3, and Starcross Dons Res nearly emulated that as they beat Okehampton 3rds 5-3.

Whipton & Pinhoe won their Football Express cup clash against Bampton 2-1 and that books them a place in the quarter finals.
