Premier action this weekend kicks off the League season

The League programme gets under way this saturday with six matches in Premier. Champions Alphington who were unable to gain a place in the newly restructured Devon Football League begin their campaign to win the title again are out at Elmore, while great excitement for Winkleigh who begin their first ever Premier game at Sandford.

Lapford who were champions two years ago but so disappointingly then had to fold when they were also unable to get promoted to a higher level have been allowed to restart again in Premier and open with a trip to Sidmouth.

There are local derbies for Kentisbeare who host newly promoted Upottery and for Colyton who welcome Lyme Regis, while Clyst Valley will now not be heading down down to Simmons Park to take on Okehampton Argyle. as the match has been postponed.

The main programme then gets under way the following saturday but sadly there have been a number of withdrawals and adjustments since the constitution was announced.

AFC Exe are the highest ranked team to withdraw pulling out of Division 2.

Uffculme after changing their name back from Culm Utd have now pulled out of Division 4, Bampton have been relocated from Division 3 to Division 6 with their second team withdrawn from Division 8.

Division 5 has lost Central Reserves and Exmouth Rovers have just informed the League they cannot find enough players to keep the side going.
