THIRD TIME LUCKY FOR UPOTTERY IN EAST DEVON SENIOR CUP

Upottery win on penalties

At the third time of asking Upottery have finally got their hands on the East Devon Senior Cup. After being runners up in the past two seasons the East Devon team beat Kentisbeare 7-6 on penalties at Minster Park to capture at long last what is one of Devons oldest competitions. Neither side ever really got going in regular time, and chances were few so it came down to spotkicks after it ended 0-0. That had twists and turns as well but at 6-6 Upottery made their next kick count. A disappointing result for Kentisbeare who were in the final for the first time ever.

At 1pm on saturday the University 4ths will line up against Exmouth Spartans also at Minster Park in the Bill Slee Cup.
