UNIVERSITY 4THS COMPLETE THE DOUBLE TO END THE SEASON

SATURDAY JUNE 4

Division Two champions Exeter University 4ths completed the double when they won the Bill Slee Cup at Minster Park against Exmouth Spartans. It was yet another local final that went to penalties, but despite the lack of goals the two teams produced a thrilling match which ended 0-0, both goalkeepers making outstanding saves from numerous chances. The college then won the shoot out 3-1 to win the cup for the first time, but the Spartans seeking their first ever silverware can be proud of their efforts.

Elsewhere Beer Albion won the Sportslighting Devon Premier cup 3-1 against Park United of the North Devon League. It was the fishermens second victory in the competition in the past three years, having won it in 2022 when members of our Premier division, but now as Devon Football League members, the Devon & Exeter League is still delighted they have brought the trophy back to East Devon once more.
