UPOTTERY STEP CLOSER TO REPEAT SENIOR CUP FINAL

Shocks by the bucketful in Senior divisions

SENIOR DIVISIONS 1-4

Division One leaders Upottery switched their attention for the day to the East Devon Senior Cup where they made it into the semi finals after a narrow 2-1 win at home to Bow AAC. Upottery were last seasons beaten finalists so they moved a step closer to a repeat final against a Bow side who did not make life easy by taking the lead from Ryan Gibson-Heard. Upottery hit back through Cody Skinner and the same player swept in for the winner. Upottery will now face Newton St Cyres in the semis.

Meanwhile Winkleigh missed the chance to go joint top of Division One when held to a 1-1 draw at Newton St Cyres. Connor Wilson with the Cyres goal and a man of the match performance from James Knox.
On friday evening Newtown won 2-1 at Chard Town, Dale O’Donoghue and Ryan Gilpin with the goals, while back to saturday Teignmouth undid Beer Albion 2-0 with Todd Ballman and Tom Grant scoring.
Great recovery by Wellington at the University after going two down. The tangerines hit back to win 3-2 with a Roham Poulsom penalty, Logan Sellick and Luke Perry goals and they are now ten games unbeaten.
The Hatherleigh Town improvement goes on as they triumphed 2-0 at Lympstone.

Second place St Martins got back to winning ways in Division Two as they pocketed three points at Farway United 2-0. Hugh Stronge and Callum Owens with the goals.
The University stay leaders after running goal mad at Dunkeswell Rovers 8-0. Jack Barry and Joe Watts both netted twice, singles from Sam Singha, Jah Abdul-Salam, Oscar Young and Tom Martin.
Exmouth Spartans now with just three matches left to play were 3-1 winners at Central whose Joe Moran scored their only goal.
Clyst Valley beat Tedburn St Mary 2-1, Liam Smith with a consolation and Feniton drew 2-2 with Westexe Park Rangers, Tarq Gasmi with both home goals.
Tipton St John came up with a big point against high flying Cranbrook where they drew 1-1.

Shock defeats for the top three teams in Division Three with leaders Heavitree United slumping 4-2 at home to AFC Exe, Hemyock beaten 3-2 at Chagford and South Zeal United undone 3-1 at Seaton Town. Josh Tickner with the Zeal goal.
The crashes were heard at Witheridge who came from behind to beat the University 2-1 and will really boost their challenge.
The shocks didnt end there. Bottom of the table Chagford came good 3-2 at home to Hemyock,
Halwill won 1-0 in their basement clash at Bampton, and Bravehearts were 2-1 winners at Lyme Regis whose reply came from the penalty spot.

Uplyme enjoyed a massive 2-2 draw at Division Four leaders St Thomas, which was a big bonus for the University who galloped to a 10-0 win at home to Colyton.
Alphington stepped up their challenge 2-0 at East Budleigh with Myles O’Reilly and Sam Washbourn scoring, as did Budleigh Salterton who hit Culm United for six without reply. Two goal Matt Lidstone, Harry Gibbings, Max Roberts, Ryan Tullett and Will White with the robins nest.
Elmore won their mid Devon clash against Cullompton 3-2, Corey Groover scoring twice, Freddie Loveday once.
Fady Benattayallan bagged all four goals for Exeter United as they stunned Cheriton Fitzpaine 4-1.
