The former Civil Service club have shut up shop

News that former Devon & Exeter league side Exwick Villa have folded their Devon League team will come as a huge disappointment for the club who were renamed nearly a decade ago from Exeter Civil Service.

This will trigger many memories for the Civil Service team which began in 1946 and over the years won numerous trophies in League and cups. Names such as Mike Gard, Jimmy Webber, John Frankpitt, Norman Gill, Andy Dewar, Barry Hooper, Andy Jane, Mark Willey,  and of course not forgetting Clive Martin come easily to mind, and I am sure they will feel dismayed with this news.

Times have changed of course but the League sends sincere condolences to the Villa club for its decision.
