Newly promoted Sandford won a thriller at Otterton 4-3 to open their season in Division Five. A Friend hat-trick and Mooney with the Sandford goals, Howe 2 and Powell for the Otters who are hoping this will be a much brighter season for them.

Division Six Davey saw Topsham Town comfortable 4-0 winners at home to Cheriton Fitzpaine, Rogers and Pavey both netting twice, and Witheridge coming good 6-3 at Okehampton Argyle. Pincombe 3, Verrier 2 and Irwin nailing the Withy goals.
Phoenix Res 3-0 winners at Newton St Cyres, O’Loughlin, Turle and Eastleigh on the mark, while over at Bow AAC a 1-1 draw against newly formed Hatherleigh Town Res Munn with the visitors goal Granger their man of the match.
Tedburn St Mary who have swapped over managers between the 2nds and 3rds won their opening game 1-0 against newly returned Chagford Res, Stanbury with the goal.

Doubles from Babatunde and Hogan with singles from Henderson and Grower helped Phoenix 1st to a 6-0 win against Starcross Dons.
