DEVON PREMIER CUP TWO THROUGH, THREE OUT

DEVON PREMIER CUP

Premier champions Upottery proved too good for reigning Devon Senior cup holders Bradworthy from the North Devon League. The Glebe Park side triumphed 4-0 and go into this weeks third round draw alongside East Budleigh who returned from North Devon 5-0 winners at Bideford. Great result from both teams, but not for Westexe Park Rangers making their debut. The Tivvy team went down 3-2 at Kingsteignton Athletic, and also out are Crediton United after they were beaten 3-1 at Ilsington Villa and St Martins who were edged out 2-1 by Newton Abbot 66 at Minster Park.

Limited league action with the County cups dominating the day but still four Premier division clashes with Sidmouth Town regaining top spot following their 1-0 victory at a gritty Feniton. Drew Cull with the vital goal, Gribble getting man of the match for the Vikings and Sellick for the home side. Over in Somerset, Wellington Town with a 6-1 win at home to South Zeal United Acland and Bryant both on target twice, Evett and man of the match Nott also scoring, Dennis with the only reply.
That result bettered slightly by Beer Albion 7-2 at home to Lyme Regis whose Mclean and Rawlings eased their pain.
