AFTER THE COUNTY CUP DRAMA, YET MORE CUP DRAMA AS THE EAST DEVON COMPS KICK IN

ACTION THIS WEEKEND OCTOBER 16/17

After the dramas in the County cups last week more cup action locally this weekend with the East Devon cups competitions. East Devon Senior cup holders Crediton United begin their defence at home to Lyme Regis while beaten finalists Feniton are also at home to Alphington. Five ties in all taking place.

However there is still some delayed County cup action as Dawlish United Res make the short journey to Newton Abbot in the Devon Intermediate cup, and Newton St Cyres Res and Bow AAC up against each other in the same competition.

The Railway Club were last seasons Bill Slee cup winners but now renamed as the Royal Oak begin the chance to recapture under their new banner at home to Beer Albion, while beaten finalists Cullompton Rangers are away to Halwill.

Uplowman United proud Football Express Cup winners start their campaign against Dunkeswell Rovers who plot to progress along the road to reach what would be a first ever final.

Geary cup holders Exmouth Albion have stepped up to the FE cup but finalists Whipton & Pinhoe make the short trip down the bypass to face the 2025 FE winners Topsham Town. The cup has also thrown together again a clash between Cranbrook Town and Cranbrook United with the latter seeking to gain revenge for their recent league defeat.

Still plenty of league action with Okehampton Argyle and Chagford meeting on Friday evening under the Simmons Park lights in the Division 6 Davey division.

Neither of the top two Premier teams in action but a chance for either Colyton or Wellington who meet at the Peace Memorial ground to edge into the top three. East Budleigh could also achieve that goal if they win their derby against Ottery St Mary.
The bottom two South Zeal United and the University square up at Zeals Recreation ground.

Big chance for Clyst Valley to go joint top of Division One if they put paid to visiting Teignmouth and with leaders Dawlish in cup action at St Martins.

Victory for Witheridge at Broadclyst would take them top of Division Two and maintain their 100% record. No doubt Broadclyst hoping to cause an upset though.

Division Three leaders Willand welcome Exeter Royals who if they avoid defeat could let in the University as new leaders if the students triumph at Feniton who are without a win this season.

No league games in Division Four as every team there in cup action, and just the one meeting in Division Five where Sandford defend their 100% record at home to the University.

Division Six Brown leaders Axminster Town looking to put distance on their rivals with maximum points inland at nearby Farway United, no league matches in Six Davey, and just one encounter in Six Webb between Lympstone and Exeter International United but both seeking a first victory.
