BALBI LAUNCHES A TORPEDO ROCKET AT BEER TO SINK THE FISHERMEN

Beer Albion were unable to complete the double against East Budleigh in their first home Devon & Exeter League Premier division match since March 2022 when they were held to a 1-1 draw. In fact the visitors felt they had two genuine penalty claims turned down but did score a sensational goal from their man of the match Sam Balbi they might well rename as rocketman.

Meanwhile champions Upottery proved too good for Wellington winning 5-2 and move into joint top spot alongside Colyton who were delighted to get the better of Crediton United 1-0, Somers with the vital goal for Colyton, while for Upottery a double for Tratt-Skinner, and singles for Edwardson, McCreadie-Taylor and Perryman. Poulsom had both goals for the tangerines.

Sidmouth Town slipped back after being held 3-3 at St Martins who still chase their first win, but smiles at Lyme Regis with a first point from a 1-1 draw at home to Westexe Park Rangers. Mclean had Lyme ahead before Gerrard struck a late equaliser.

Last but far from least South Zeal United notched their first ever Premier victory when they took out Feniton 2-0. Lynam with both goals for the newcomers.
