COUNTY AND LOCAL CUPS ROUND UP

First report amended as follows:

No double delight for Dawlish United following their 2nds 4-1 defeat at Newton Abbot in the Devon Intermediate cups second round, one of two ties held back a week.  The win earns the South Devon League side a third round tie at home to Horrabridge Rangers next month but good news for Bow AAC who hit a deluge of goals to see out Newton St Cyres 12-0. Cope led with a hat-trick, Fenemore and Fee both scored twice, with Puddifoot, Jones, Chadler, Thurlbook ,and Coles with a screamer also in on the act. Bow now away again to Bradninch.

The Royal Oak are out to “recapture” the Bill Slee trophy they won as the Railway Club earlier this year when they stormed into the next round 6-0 at home to Beer Albion.
However beaten finalists Cullompton Rangers might like a say in that although they had to work hard to better Halwill at the Junction 5-3. G. Davey with two goals, E Davey, Maloney, and Webber scoring for Cully.
Heavitree United who have never won the cup before looking to correct that after their 4-1 win at Starcross Dons, and the same for Axminster Town who are through after getting past Clyst Valley 3-2. Idris 2 and McGahey scoring for the tigers.

Another shock in the Football Express cup with holders Uplowman United going out against Dunkeswell Rovers 4-3 on pens following a goalless 90 minutes. Elation for the Dunks who have never ever played in the final of this competition which has such a rich history and now in its 110th season.
As always a few big scores led by Chagford 10-1 at home to St Martins. Fine with a hat-trick, doubles from Hirst and Rowe, and singles by Palmer, Madge and Stanbury.
Exmouth Albion in their first ever Express tie won 7-0 at Bradninch whose Boorman was their pick of the side, and Topsham Town won 5-1 at Cheriton Fitzpaine, with Schinder getting as hat-trick. Parslow and Christian also scored.
Four goals for Beacon Knights 6-3 winners at neighbours Whipton & Pinhoe, Faulkner with 4, Saunders and Ndu adding aces.
Also through are Alphington 3-1 at home to East Budleigh, Millwey Rise 4-1 winners at Awlsicombe United, Ex Dons 3-0 against Westexe Park Rangers, and the University 2-1 away to North Tawton.

The Geary cup holders Exmouth Albion have now moved on so unable to defend their crown but Topsham Town winners two years ago on the trail once again but only just after nudging out Elmore 2-1.
High interest in yet another clash between Cranbrook Town and Cranbrook United which the hosts Town won 5-0. Stone 2, George, Hunt and Clothier-Smith with a penalty were the scorers.
Impact Albion 3-0 winners at Axmouth United but a tight match which turned following a penalty almost on half-time. Foster was the scorer, Jackson and Garbutt widening the gap after the break.
The University too strong for homesters Witheridge winning 6-0, and Cheriton Fitzpaine likewise 4-0 at Exmouth Riptide.
Seaton Town put out last seasons beaten finalists Whipton & Pinhoe 2-1, just along the coast Lyme Regis also won 2-1 against Hemyock, Axbey and Batey on target, Gay with a consolation goal, Marke was their man of the match, and Starcross Dons are through after winning a penalty shoot-out at Phoenix United 5-4 following their 2-2 ending.
