FRIDAY IS THE BIG DAY AS WE GO AGAIN

Our 115th season

This friday the new 2026/27 season gets under way with matches at Colyton and at reigning Premier champions Upottery. Colyton welcome neighbours Beer Albion following their brief but successful spell in the Devon Football League, while Upottery begin the defence of their crown against their neighbours Feniton. Then on Saturday four more Premier matches which includes the Premier debuts for South Zeal United and Westexe Park Rangers. Several other divisions kick in with a few midweek matches then the first major programme comes the following Saturday 29th August.

Premier of course has lost Winkleigh who have moved up into the Devon Football League, but Beer have filled that slot, and also Clyst Valley who have been relegated. So 14 teams will occupy our top division and it promises to be quite a well matched competition throughout.

The same could be said for most other divisions but the major change has been made in the three lowest divisions which have been brought together and labelled Brown, Davey, and Webb in memory of three former league personnel, Roland, Chris and Mike. This unique change is to also try and help teams cut back on their travelling costs, but will be reviewed again at the end of the season.

So Senior status will remain as Divisions 1,2,3 and 4, and Intermediate as Division 5 and the three newly named as above.

There is a lot going on in and around Exeter with teams playing at different venues notably in Exeter itself but the League wishes all clubs a successful season, to try and treat referees with respect and make the 115th season one to remember.
