CHAMPIONS WELCOME THE RANGERS
THIS WEEKENDS ACTION
The top match without question this weekend is at Glebe Park where champions Upottery welcome Premier newcomers Westexe Park Rangers. If either side is victorious they will take over top spot as current leaders Sidmouth Town sit this out. A tough ask for Westexe against a side beaten just once at home last season, but the Tiverton team anxious to bounce back from last weeks defeat at Sidmouth.
Colyton protect their unbeaten home record when they face the University kicking off their season after last weeks postponement and three other Premier clashes at Beer Albion against South Zeal, Lyme Regis facing Feniton, and Ottery St Mary at home to Crediton United.
Division One actually gets under way on Friday evening with Elmore hosting Kentisbeare at Horsdon Park. Both teams have won just one of their opening five matches but the eagles need a boost as they lost the other four they have played.
Leaders Dawlish United hope to maintain their impressive start but they have a big hurdle at third place Alphington even though the home side have drawn their opening two matches at the Chronicles.
Second place Clyst Valley welcome an Exmouth Spartans team seeking a first win as are the University at home to Hatherleigh Town.
Something has to give at Morchard Bishop in Division Two against second place Witheridge. Morchard have a 100% home record, Withy 100% on foreign soil and both of course keen to stay in touch with leaders and neighbours Cullompton Rangers who are down the road at Broadclyst.
Both Halwill and Lympstone searching for their first point. Halwill are at home to Beer who need a pick me up after losing in the Devon Senior cup earlier this week, while Lympstone take on the University.
Upottery’s Division Three side also have a massive date at Willand, both teams kicking off as joint leaders, while third place Axminster Town welcome Tipton St John.
Dunkeswell Rovers have the unenviable task of slowing down Division Four pacemakers Uplowman Athletic, while second place Topsham Town protect their 100% record at home to a Cheriton Fitzpaine side which has lost all its four opening encounters.
Division Five leaders Priory are at Bampton where the ponies have won both matches played their this season, second place Exmouth Albion are at Awliscombe, and Chagford in third place at Otterton.
Uplyme with a big game in Division Six Brown as they try and pull off a surprise against top dogs and neighbours Axminster Town but what a day for Cranbrook. Its Town versus United who would celebrate well into the night if they can get anything if they avoid defeat and nab their first point. Could be a big crowd for this one.
In Division Six Davey Tedburn St Mary set to go five points clear if they win against Cheriton Fitzpaine their neighbours who are playing their fourth match away having yet to play at home.
With Division 6 Webb leaders Central on a day off either Exmouth Albion or Whipton & Pinhoe who meet at Withycombe could take over, or even Phoenix United if they take the points against the University.
