County cups round up

More details on the weekend cup first round ties

The County cups dominated the weekend and as always saw some huge scores topped by Cullompton Rangers in the Devon Senior competition as they ransacked struggling Culm United 14-0. Gallant rearguard action from Culm, but hopefully better days to come.
Bravehearts ran out 10-0 against Witheridge Luke Jones leading the gallop with a hat-trick, doubles from Tom Rhodes, Kris Roper and Ed Webb with Greg Hooper rounding things off.
Alphington put paid to SDL opponents Ashburton Associates 7-1, an almost similar result at Otterton where Topsham Town came out ahead 7-2.
Several first round ties went to penalties. Exmouth Spartans drew 2-2 with Newton Abbot Spurs but went through 4-3 on pens. Rob Welsman and Brandon Perry with normal time goals.
Farway United and St Martins also drew 2-2 before the Saints who had been two down hit back and won 4-3 on pens. Joe Winsor and Josh Jays had the Saints goals, Billy Reed with both for Farway.
South Zeal and Kingsteignton ended 1-1 atfter 90 minutes, but the referee played extra time during which Kings struck twice. Possible replay here.
Newton St Cyres won 3-1 at Bampton, James Baker, Cameron Smith and Dylan Wilson with the goals.Devon Yeoman won their derby tie at Broadclyst 1-0, Matt Lyne-ley scoring, and Upottery beat Paignton Saints 2-1, Cody Tratt-Skinner with both goals.
Chagford through thanks to a 5-3 win against Hooe Rangers, and the University in their first match edged out Millbridge from Plymouth 3-2.
Home walkovers for Hatherleigh against Millwey Rise, and Newtown against Axmouth, but Exeter United withdrew from their trip to Braunton, Bradninch also forfeited against Ilsington Villa, and Uplowman against Shamwickshire.
Clyst Valley went out beaten 5-3 at Chittlehampton, Sidmouth suffered a 12-3 home calamity against Combe Martins.

In the Devon Intermediate cup AFC Exe topped the charts as they flattened Upottery 12-0. A nap hand for Max Squires, four from Will Burwood including a penalty, and singles from Jack Cutting, Tim Edwards and Morgan Naule.
Dolton Rangers too strong for Torridgeside in their derby clash winning 10-0, new boys St Thomas won 8-2 at Millwey Rise,, Starcross Dons 7-0 against Hatherleigh Town, and Cranbrook United edged a cracker at Discoveries 6-5.
Tom Head snapped up four goals for Bickleigh as they triumped 5-3 at Watts Blake Bearne,
Fenitons Development team were 4-2 winners at Beacon Knights 4-2 with Ashton Beck notching a hat-trick. Ryhlee Acott with the other goal.
Bow AAC were 1-0 winners at Newton Rovers of the SDL , Josh Williams with the only goal.
Also through to round 2 are Elmore 6-3 against South Zeal, Topsham Town 3-0 at Langtree Lions, Sandford 2-0 home to Bishopsteignton, and the University 2-1 at home to Morchard Bishop, Adam Bell with their consolation.
Exmouth Rovers are through after a 4-4 draw at Babbacombe, Matt Peligry 2, Lee Dumbreck and Paddy McGuiness with their goals, after which they triumphed 4-2 on pens.
Devon Yeoman shared a 1-1 draw at Sidmouth but went through on penalties.
Walkovers came for Heart of Oak v Ipplepen, and Uplyme v Abbotskersell. However Broadclyst were saved the trip to SAS Equalisers who forfeited.
Heavy knockouts for Witheridge at home to Fremington 10-1, City Raiders 9-1 at home to Shamwickshire, North Tawton 10-0 at Devonport, Priory 9-1 at home to Teign Village.
More bad news as Kenn Valley United foundered 5-1 at Ivybridge, as did Exeter Panthers 5-1 at home to Lifton. Awliscombe went under 4-2 at South Molton and Dawlish United lost 2-1 against Torquay United played on friday evening.
