DEVON PREMIER CUP

Mixed fortunes in the Devon Premier cup but St Martins stole the show with their penalty shootout win at home to Thorverton. The pair had ended a competitive match at 1-1 but Saints netted all five spotkicks to topple their Devon League rivals.
No repeat cup success for Feniton at home to Ottery St Mary. Their Devon League neighbours gained revenge for a recent cup final loss to Fenny, to beat their hosts 3-1, Brook with the goal for the home side.
It also went to penalties at Beer Albion where the former cup holders were knocked out 5-4 on penalties by League champions Upottery after the tie ended 1-1.
South Zeal Uniteds debut in the competition saw them beaten 4-1 by Bradworthy of the North Devon League. Zeal did have a goal disallowed and managed to equalise after the visitors struck, but Bradworthy always looked a little sharper on the day.

DEVON SENIOR CUP

46 goals scored in the seven first round ties our teams involved in and with both Clyst Valley and Witheridge getting nines. Withy were at Shebbear of the NDL and like Clyst Valley at home to Putford also from NDL won 9-0. Aiken with four of the Valley tally, Burwood 2, Bowden, Maule and Smith with the remainder.
Dawlish United were impressive winning 5-0 away at Hartland also of the NDL, but elsewhere some heavy defeats. Exmouth Spartans went down 7-2 at Buckland Athletic, a club who began their incredible history and 39 year journey in our League in 1987.
Cheriton Fitzpaine were swept aside 6-0 at home by Babbacombe Corinthians another South Devon team who were once in our League but a long time ago.
Exeter Royals took Liverton to penalties after they drew 3-3, then losing 4-2 on pens and Teignmouth were also ousted on penalties 3-2 at home to Northam Lions following a 1-1 draw.
Finally St Martins failed to raise a side for their tie at Watcombe Wanderers.

DEVON INTERMEDIATE CUP

The Intermediate cup got under way on Friday evening when Offwell Rangers made the trip to Buckland Athletic but were swept aside 8-0.
Better news on Saturday with Millwey Rise Res whose first team were beaten finalists last May winning 3-0 against Kingsbridge and Kellaton, and Sandford winning a cracker against Bere Alston 4-3.
Bampton beat league rivals Cheriton Fitzpaine by the only goal of the game, but Exeter International United are out losing 2-1 at Ipplepen, and Witheridge foundered 4-1 at home to Horrabridge United.
Result now in for Topsham who beat Uplyme 6-1.
